Privacy

Effective October 5, 2026

Palm is built to know as little about you as possible. There are no accounts. We never ask for your name, email address, or phone number, and we don't know who you are.

How a prayer gets written

We ask your permission before anything is sent for the first time. After that, when you ask for a prayer, the need you chose, anything you type, and the time of day are sent to our server, which runs on Cloudflare, and then on to Anthropic, the AI company that writes the prayer. We use this only to write that prayer. We don't save your typed words or the prayer on our servers. Anthropic automatically deletes this text within 30 days, unless it must keep it longer to enforce its usage policy or comply with the law, and under its commercial terms it doesn't use this text to train its models. See the Anthropic Privacy Policy.

What our server keeps

Apple's DeviceCheck also records, on Apple's servers, that a device has used its free prayer.

How the app is used

We use PostHog to understand how people use Palm — which onboarding screens are seen, which needs are chosen, and whether a prayer appeared. These events are tied to a randomly generated ID for your install, not to you, and include your device model, operating system version, app version, language, and time zone. IP addresses are discarded and not stored.

PostHog never receives your typed words or your prayers. When you use the "something else" option, we record only that you typed something, never what you wrote.

Subscriptions

Apple handles purchases through your Apple ID, and Palm never sees your payment details. We use Superwall to show our subscription screens and manage access. When the app opens, Superwall receives a device identifier that Apple assigns to apps from the same developer, your device model and iOS version, language and region, time zone, IP address, app version, install date, subscription status, and what you do on its screens. We use this to show the right screens, unlock access, and understand how they perform.

What stays on your phone

Your saved prayers, favorites, widget choices, reminder times, and onboarding answers are stored on your phone only. We never receive them. If you back up your phone to iCloud or a computer, they may be included in that backup under Apple's terms. Deleting the app removes them from your phone.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled on your phone. We never receive a notification token. You can turn them off any time in iOS Settings.

What we don't do

We don't sell your personal information. Palm has no ads, and we don't use your data for advertising or marketing.

Companies that help us

Anthropic writes prayers. Cloudflare hosts our server. PostHog provides our usage analytics. Superwall runs our subscription screens. Apple provides purchases, App Attest, and DeviceCheck. Each handles data under its own policy: Anthropic, Cloudflare, PostHog, Superwall, Apple.

Keeping and deleting your data

Because we can't tell who you are, we may not be able to find anything about you. Records on our server are erased on the schedules above, except the install record, which stays until we remove it. PostHog and Superwall keep what they receive for as long as needed to run the app, and we can ask them to delete data on your behalf. To ask what we hold, correct it, or delete it, contact us below and we'll reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live, including California, the EU, and the UK, you may have legal rights over your data, and we honor them.

Your words are personal

You decide what to type. You can always get a prayer by tapping a need without typing anything.

Children

Palm is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date above. For significant changes, we'll tell you in the app.
